Our Aquatectonic team, led by Bill Simmons, AIA, has more than four decades of combined experience designing pools, water features and spas for public and community, education, hospitality, community centers, clubs, multi-family and private residential properties.
We are changing our name but not our office! Our team and ownership are the remain the same.

The Ellipse Aquatectonic Architects worked with the LeFrak Organization and HLW International LLP to develop the pool plaza at the Ellipse in Jersey City. The 6th floor outdoor pool deck overlooks the Hudson and with the feel of a luxury ocean liner. It has a kiddie pool, cabanas, barbeques and a fire pit with stadium seating. One side views Lower Manhattan while the other side overlooks Newport Green.

Mount Pleasant Park and Community Center Lothrop Associates designed the 65,000 square foot, twelve acre, mixed use complex consisting of 4 swimming pools, a branch library, and a teen center as well as space for senior citizen programs, arts and crafts, meeting rooms and a multi-use space. Site work included parking for 300 vehicles. The project received a design award from the American Institute of Architects Westchester Mid Hudson Chapter.

SKY 605 West 42nd Street Aquatectonic Archtiects, a department of Lothrop Associates LLP, designed the pools for the luxurious residential
building “Sky” designed by GHWA. The pools are part of the exclusive 70,000 suqare-foot Members
Club with a multi-level gym, water club, spa, lap pool, professional-size basketball court, two
zero-edge outdoor pools, cafe, kids’s club, Skydeck, and Skypark. -
Private Villa Pool A spectacular porject for a prvate client in Panama. This endless pool strays out into the middle of the Pacific ocean.

Ossining Community Center: Joseph Caputo Community Center The Ossining Community Center replaced and upgraded their pool and bathhouse with a new year round facility. Lothrop Associates designed the 22,000 square foot pool building for competitive swimming and other community events. The building is supported on concrete filled caissons to prevent undermining from a steep slope and we used a pre-engineered building system to accelerate construction. The project received a design award from the American Institute of Architects Westchester Mid Hudson Chapter.

Club Fit - Jefferson Valley The Jefferson Valley Club Fit project renovated and upgraded large portions of the Club. Renovations included a pool upgrade, fitness center, children's nursery, gym and new tennis building.

South Shore YJCC - Oceanside Lothrop Associates planned and designed the 57,000 square foot addition and renovation for a community center. The project renovated and expanded a former manufacturing building to house classrooms, swimming pools, community rooms and auditorium.

Lake Isle Lothrop Associates planned and designed upgrades for Lake Isle, a municipal owned golf course and recreation complex in the Town of Eastchester. The project included a new 30' x 75', accessible adult swimming pool, bathhouse, snack bar, golf cart barn and pro shop. Landscaping was added throughout the parking and public areas and a 5,500 square foot maintenance barn was constructed elsewhere on the site.

ONE57 Lothrop Associates' pool department Aquatectonic Architects, worked with Architect SLCE and Atelier Christian de Portzamparc, to develop the ONE57 Pool. The pool, whirlpool spa and water features are designed for the Hyatt Hotel which is located in the mixed use building.

Williamsburg Pool Lift It is always fascinating to see a pool go onto the roof of a high rise building. This steel pool is being lifted to the roof of one of our Brooklyn, New York projects in Williamsburg.
