Larchmont Public Library retained Lothrop Associates to help re-invigorate its aged facility. Working closely with the Library’s Board, Administration and Staff, our Master Plan was approved and Phase 1 of the project has been completed.

HENDRICK HUDSON FREE LIBRARY

CHILDREN’S ROOM ADDITION

Montrose, New York

Our latest renovation for the Hendrick Hudson Free Library is the Children's Room Addition. Lothrop Associates LLP has been working with the Hendrick Hudson Free Library since 1977 and designed the Award Winning 15,900 square foot Library Building, a community room, a new patron lounge and expansion of the computer area and more.

Third Floor Programming Room Renovations

Lothrop Associates LLP designed an interior renovation on the thrid floor of teh Warner Libary for a Program Muli-function Room.

The room is dividable with a folding partion, and is equipped with a ceiling mounted projection and drop down screen. The third floor has spectacular view of the Hudson River
Briarcliff Manor Public Library

Lothrop Associates designed and expanded the existing historic building keeping the library's character of the former train station. The addition expanded the 2,800 library square feet to 8,000 square feet.
Hendrick Hudson Free Library

Lothrop Associates has worked with the Hendrick Hudson Free Library since 1977 originally converting an existing firehouse into their library. As the library grew and expanded, we evaluated various sites and building alternatives, ultimately leading to the construction of their current facility on Kings Ferry Road.
White Plains Public Library Children's Library "The Trove"

The atmosphere of the children's library is distinctly different from all other areas of the library. The "Trove" entrance entices young imaginations to see what lies beyond the portal. The Children's Library is filled with moving images, words and iridescent lights. Colors are bold and influenced by the forest, ocean, and sky. Images and objects of science, history, and art spread throughout the Library.
Mount Kisco Public Library

The Mount Kisco Library is in the historic downtown area, adjacent to the Village Hall and former Post Office. Lothrop Associates designed the 18,000 square foot library to compliment the neighboring historic buildings. The new library replaced the former 1950's building, expanding collections and adding a community room and other amenities. The library also has a "green" geothermal heating and cooling system, large windows for natural day lighting with light sensors to control lighting and conserve electricity.
New Milford Public Library

The New Milford Public Library is located on the Town Green in the center of town. Lothrop Associates developed the New Milford Public Library Master Plan, helping the library strengthen it's role in the community. During the process, group meetings obtained community input and the funding. The proejct has been enthusiastically accepted by the community and Lothrop Associates is now preparing construction documents for a Libary addition and renovation.
Ramsey Public Library

Lothrop Associates generated a "Use Analysis" and "Building Program" for the growing library. The Ramsey Public Library was adjusting to the changing needs of libraries with the rapidly evolving electronic media world. Lothrop Associates renovated the 14,000 square foot building, upgrading it to accommodate the needs of libraries today.

We renovated the library with a separate exterior entrance to the community room so it can easily be used after normal hours. The main entrance was moved and a luminous canopy added. Patrons entering the building from either entrance are greeted at the service desk.

Entering the new library and passing the main service desk, patrons encounter the high, naturally lit "collection garden." Collections shelving radiate from the central space within a forest of trees and comfortable seating.
